На этот раз оно притворилось облаком, я обернулась ровно в тот момент, когда оно развернулось аки подарок на новый год. Я прямо чувствовала, как у него слюни текут, хоть оно на это и не способно. Ух как оно жрать хотело.

Когда оно напало, я ударила ножом, и оно завизжало как свинья. Да, вот так просто. Оно не то отпрыгнуло, не то проскользнуло назад по земле, оставив на песке след чего-то, на что больно было смотреть.

Оно опять напало, я снова ударила.

И опять.

И ещё раз.

Мы друг в друге наделали дыр. Я — в его теле, оно — в моём разуме. От меня осталось не очень много.

Несколько минут оно корчилось на земле и вворачивалось само в себя. Я продолжала бить. Оно не кровоточило, но мои руки будто бы намокли. Возможно, оно не было живым в том же смысле, что и я. Возможно, какая-то метафизическая хуйня.

Удар удар удар. Оно умерло свернувшись в маленький чёрный шарик размером с мой большой палец. Мягкий и податливый. Я раздавила его ботинком.

Раз это так просто, чего ж я не сделала так раньше? Сделай я это сразу и во мне осталось бы побольше от моей личности. Может, на то была причина, но я её уже не помню.

Пчела умирает, когда жалит. Возможно, Мимик был похожим в этом отношении. Его последний удар, прежде чем я его прикончила, был каким-то иным. Раньше оно сразу забирало конкретные воспоминания. Сейчас же я как будто бы корабль с пробоинами, в который заливается вода. Или, в моём случае, выливается из него. Не очень сравнение, если честно.

Я что-то забыла. Не помню слова, которые были до этого. Оно всё пропадает.

Я могу себя убить, у меня при себе нож. Не самый приятный способ самоубийства, но я бы могла разрезать себе горло. Но вот в чём дело: я не хочу умирать. Гляжу на вечно слоняющихся здесь людей, ослепших от постоянного открытого взгляда на солнце, и думаю только о том, что не хочу умирать.

Я не понимаю, что значат эти слова.
