• The world map is colored by branch, with all regions where the language of an officially recognised branch is the most widely spoken language being assigned to that branch. Many branches have locations outside of these areas, so these colors are just a general guide to where branches are most likely to have facilities.
• Colors for each branch on the maps were selected to maximise contrast between adjacent branches, accidental similarities are unavoidable. To add new branches, a new version of the map will need to be uploaded.
• This is a map of Sites with generally agreed on locations - obviously, Sites like Site-19 with inconsistent or unknown locations had to be omitted!
• These locations aren't "canon", just widely agreed on. You're free to contradict this map whenever you feel like it!
• Listing all these sites on the same map was not intended to depict them as coexisting in-universe, especially since locations like Facility-57 are from specific canons. This is just a fun way to visualise where the facilities of each branch might be located, for your education and entertainment!
• Most of the icons made by Jerden are unofficial (although some have been added to Secure Facility Dossiers, or are based off official icons) - feel free to use them, but feel equally free to not use them, or to use different ones. If there are more official icons than these, you can use them instead. (Пользователь 'Jerden' не существует will never be offended by an attempt to improve on his work, which is why the .svg files have been uploaded to his artist page for anyone to download and edit.)
• Many of these locations are approximate, and some are based on automatic translations. If there are any errors, feel free to correct them yourself, comment on them in the discussion, or message Пользователь 'Jerden' не существует directly.
• Most of the existing icons for the Chinese Branch's Sites used Roman Numerals, so that has been continued on this map for Sites without official insignia.

Copy and edit the following code, replacing x_coordinate and y_coordinate with numbers (representing distance from the top left corner in percent) and replacing url_for_the_image with the image link for the custom Site or Area icon.

If you don't have a custom image for your Site or Area, you can use the default icon from the legend below the map, replacing XXX with your number - see the legend below for a list of icons used for each branch.

If the text on the site logo is hard to read at this scale, or if your site has an identifier that's a little too long to be overlaid or uses characters that aren't as easily recognisable (e.g. a name rather than a number), you can add text below the icon as a subtitle:

Tip: copy the x and y coordinates from the nearest site, then make small adjustments until your icon is in the appropriate position!

New additions should be added in numerical order to the appropriate list of Sites or Area - there's one or more for each branch. It gets complicated, because there are submaps for North America, Latin America, Europe and East Asia, so any Sites in those regions will need to be added to the World Map and to the submap. Since "North America" and "Latin America" overlap, sites in Central America and the Caribbean will need to be added to all three maps. There's also a Central Europe map covering Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czechia and Poland (DE, CS and PL), since these branches have a lot of sites in them, so that's an extra map to add to.

If there's a lot of Facilities in a relatively small area covered by a submap (such as Germany or Italy), there's no need to include them all on the World Map.

The Legend below the map links sources (although some locations are taken from Secure Facility Dossiers) and shows unique icons for each branch - some of these are just the icons for various branches of the SCP Foundation. If your branch (or some Facilities from it, like Site-313 from ES or Area-34 from PL) uses the same numbering system as the English Language Foundation (Numbered Sites and Areas with no country/language codes), then using the default EN Site and Area icons makes the most sense. Distinctive borders or backgrounds are preferable to specifying the branch with letters - adding "PT" or "DE" would just clutter up the design!
